Since Brian and I are both called to be in the youth programs of the church we get to go to a lot of activities together. We had a blast watching the kids dance at the Valentine's Day dance. This weekend we got to go to the most amazing fireside. I'm sure many of you have heard of Walter Rane but for those of you who haven't he is a wonderful artist who has done quite a bit of work for the church. He has 16 pieces hanging in the conference center as well as in various temples and visitors centers. He lives here in Salem and he was our special guest for the youth fireside this week. It was really incredible to hear him explain his inspiration for many of his paintings. This one was our favorite. It is a different take on the first vision than some others we've seen. Joseph looks so young and vulnerable and innocent. He gave us a signed print of it and it is something we will treasure.Tuesday, March 11, 2008
