Construction Zone

We got our keys last Monday and we have been hard at work ever since. It's been a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. It's getting to the point now where we are finishing some projects and can see some progress which is really nice. They are coming to measure for carpet tomorrow and we should be moving in next week if all goes to plan. We wanted to wait and post before pictures when we have the after to go with them. (Makes for a more dramatic reveal right?) In the meantime here are some during pictures.

One of the first things we did was rip out all the yucky carpet. Brian is such a stud, that is one heavy roll of nasty carpet!

Our home inspector found some loose wood debris in the crawl space below the house. He said it could eventually be a tasty treat for termites enticing them to our house. We thought it best to take preventative measures and dispose of it now. Guess who got nominated for that dirty job?

Of course the day he decided to do it he was wearing SHORTS! Not the proper attire for crawling under the house but he said it was too hot that day to wear pants.....it was 75 degrees.

He got a few spider bites but was successful in clearing the debris.

This is how our living room has looked from day one. There has been a steady stream of doors needing to be cleaned and painted cycled through here.

Had to throw one of me in there. I have become quite the painter.

Another big project has been the fridge. We are very lucky that they left a fridge so we won't have to buy one (at least not for a little while). Of course though it's been turned off for a couple of months so it needed a very thorough cleaning and we wanted the doors switched so they opened the other way.


It turned into quite the project.......

Thankfully it is all reassembled now and ready for action. We are so excited for everything to be finished. We still can't believe that we are home owners!
