State Capitol

On Monday we decided to take a field trip too the State Capitol building. We wanted to walk around the grounds and the area near by and see if it was open for tours. It was!! It was of course a pretty short tour but the volunteer tour guide was a real kick! She cracked herself up! We learned a lot about our state's history and also some local history. The state legislature is now in session and now we both want to go back and observe while they are actually working! I know we're nerds!

We live in the Beaver State! This cute little sculpture is on the grounds at the capitol building.

All 50 state flags are on display in the park next to the capitol. There are some really cool ones and some really not so cool ones. It was surprisingly cool to look at all of them. Yes, that's me on the left.

Mural inside the capitol.

The seal of the great state of Oregon.

Inside the senate chamber.

Brian's "brochure" photo of the outside of the building. He got the sculpture of Lewis and Clark and the tower.

This one has nothing to do with the capitol but Brian loves it so I told him I would put it in. We were going on a walk the other day and I was outside enjoying the sun while I was waiting for him and he so sneakily snapped this shot. I usually hate his sneaky pictures of me because I'm usually making a face but I have to admit this one is pretty cool.

That is a cool picture! But mostly... I love The Beaver State. Your pictures remind me of Girl's state when I spent a week in Salem.

Guess what I found the other day and thought of you? My toad socks! The ones you gave me for Christmas or my birthday I can't remember. I can't remember why you called me toad? We were weird. FUN for sure but very very weird.
