Live Nativity

Every year our stake center puts on a Nativity Festival for the community. We went last year and really enjoyed all of the nativities and music. This year's festival included a live nativity! Of course we had to take our little man to see the live camel that was rumored to be there.

He's excited!

Before we checked out the nativities we traveled along "the road to Bethlehem". They had set up a very cool children's exhibit that took them through the days leading up to the birth of Christ. Of course Van isn't quite old enough to understand all of it but he was definitely fascinated by all the displays and people in costume. We were very impressed too!

After the children's exhibit and all of the unique and beautiful nativities we made it outside to the live nativity. I had never been to one before and didn't know what to expect. I was impressed with the feeling that comes with seeing real people depicting the birth of our savior.

I think Van felt it too. He was mesmerized.

Of course he could have just been captivated by the camel (the rumors turned out to be true!). I guess we'll never know but I'd like to think that his sweet spirit could recognize the special spirit of the nativity.
