Pacifiers Are For Babies

"yeah, I know I'm awesome!"

Well our little man has passed yet another milestone that makes him seem like such a big boy.....he kicked the pacifier! We've limited it to nap time, bedtime, and long road trips for about a year now. We've been talking about taking it away completely for a while but always chickened out. We knew the longer we waited to do it the worse it would be but we had such a good thing going with his schedule and he was such a good sleeper and we just didn't want to compromise it! We finally got ourselves pumped up enough to do it last weekend and it went so much better than we thought! Van is such a stud! We had heard that if you cut the tip of the pacifier it doesn't work anymore so they learn it's useless and give it up more easily so that's what we tried. He definitely knew they were broken, "oh no!" "on no!". He had a hard time falling asleep the first night but slept great once he did. The next day he took a little longer to fall asleep for his nap and didn't sleep very long but since then he's been back to normal...without his pacifier!! YEAH!!! Way to go Van!!! We are constantly amazed at our little man, we really thought it would be a harder transition but he adjusted like a champ! He's back to suggling our necks, giggling, and saying "nigh nigh" as we get ready to put him to bed. We love hearing his little giggles as we leave the room. Custest. "Big Boy". Ever.
