This past Saturday we went to our church's Easter party at our neighborhood park and it was so much fun! The weather was amazing, one of the VERY few nice days we've had this spring. Van's wearing a sweatshirt in almost all of the pictures but he really shouldn't have been since it really was warm and gorgeous.
We started out with an Easter egg hunt. Van was a pro, we may have practiced a bit before we headed over to the park:) The practice may have been a bad idea. As we were waiting for the hunt to begin Van could see all the eggs and kept wanting to jump the line and run out ahead of all the other kids!

Apparently our party was important enough for the Easter Bunny to take time out of his busy schedule to stop by. Van was a little hesitant but once he saw that I was friends with the bunny he warmed up a bit.
After meeting the big guy we went to have Van's face painted. We didn't know if he would like it but since Van has a tendency to stop and stare when he's in new places we thought he would at least sit still. We were right, he furrowed his little brow and sat there while he was transformed into a little bunny.
Once he was all painted up we headed over to the cookie decorating station. As expected, Van liked the eating more than the decorating.
After the cookie Van had a little surprise in store for us, he grabbed my hand and dragged me back to the face painting table. He climbed right up into the chair and looked at the girl with the paint brush like "come on!" Despite his stoic face the first time around he must have really like the cold paint on his face because he wanted more! He is so funny! So....
Our final activity was an egg on a spoon race. Van was challenged to a race by a little girl so he stepped up. They gave him a ladle to make it a little easier since he's a little guy but as you can see in the picture there was no need to give him any help. He just held the egg in place! When the race started Brian and I we both cheering "run Van RUN!" and run he did! He ignored the cones he was supposed to follow and just ran out into the open field! HAHA! He was so focused and intense, it was so funny! Sadly, he lost since the little girl followed the cones. He definitely put more heart into it though!
Looking at all of these pictures it may seem like he didn't have fun since there is only one smiley picture. Trust me, he loved it. He just gets very focused and intense when he's exploring new places or activities. We love watching his little wheels turning! Once we got home he was all giggles and smiles! Holidays with our little guy are simply the best! Happy Easter!

I love the face paint! Too cute! I'm glad he had such a fun Easter this year. I'm sure it's more fun once they have an idea of what's going on. Carson could have cared less, but we had fun!
How cute is he!!! He is getting sooo big :)
