Pee Goes In The Potty!

You may be wondering why it's been such a long time since I posted. Maybe not since I tend to be a little sporadic;) Well I'll let Van tell you.....

That's right, those are his 'new underwears'! We've been potty training!!! I feel like I have been sucked into the black hole of all things potty for a week and am now finally emerging.

We started on Monday and he has been doing SO well!! (I hope I didn't just jinx his success by typing that for all of you to read) The first time he had to pee he sprayed everywhere but the SECOND time he totally got the concept and demonstrated impressive control! It took about two more times before he could recognize he had to go, run to the potty, and do his business with no help or prompting from me. Before nap time on day 1 he was going all by himself! What a big boy!! The only catch was that as the days went on, sometimes when he would be sucked into playing and he would go a little bit before he realized what was happening. Still, he would only go a little before he would catch himself, stop, and run to the potty. We had a couple accidents like that a day for the first 4-5 days and I can proudly say that he hasn't had a wet accident since Thursday! We've slowly started taking little outings and he hasn't had an accident yet. I think he's pretty much got #1 down! Yeah!! That being said....we are still working on #2. I expected it to take longer so I'm not too frustrated yet. He's had some success and I am optimistic that he'll figure it out soon. We are so proud of our big boy! We were pretty sure that he was ready but he has surprised and impressed us with how well he's done!!
