I know this post is a little late but I wanted to make sure I recorded a little bit about Van as he is right now, newly two. Sadly by the time I actually publish this I'm sure he will have grown up just a little bit more. Just a few things about my favorite little guy...
*he knows all the letters in the alphabet (and has for a while now) and the sounds they all make
*he still love to read and has memorized pretty much all of our books
*lately he has preferred longer story book (5-10 lines of text per page)
*he is potty trained!!!! he still has the occasional accident but overall he is doing awesome!
*he is a little copy cat. he does EVERYTHING we do
*he does a running commentary of life. he has to comment on everything that is happening around him and it is so cute! "lawn mower!" "lawn mower all done"
"mommy running" "I fall down" etc. etc.
*he is putting together sentences and communicates very well
*he has an incredible memory. when we are driving to places we go
often he always recognizes it
*he is fully into the do it himself phase. his phrase of choice is "my do it!"
but he is usually pretty good about letting us help after a little
*he is becoming much more affectionate lately. he often comes up and very
seriously says "hey, mommy" while he rests his chin on my
shoulder and pats my back. It melts me every time!
*he is SO smart!
*he has the cutest little face I've ever seen and he melts my heart every time I look at him
