Last week I took my favorite little man on a date to the Zoo. He is a really fun age. He gets so excited about everything, actually knows what's going on, and listens pretty well. It's the perfect recipe for fun outings! I told him about our zoo trip a few days before we went and he kept talking about all the different animals he wanted to see;) It got me all excited about going too!

As usual it was near impossible to catch a smile on camera but trust me, he was having a fantastic time.
In this picture you can see in his little hand a new treasure. I decided to get him a zoo key this time and I think he may have been more into the key than the animals!
They have these boxes at some of the animal exhibits. You insert your key and a recording about the animal plays. It's really not that cool and Van didn't care one bit about what the box said but he LOVED putting his key in all of the boxes.
As another little treat we rode the zoo train for the first time. I was less than impressed but Van had a blast!
He was a little tired and a little loopy when we started the drive home....
I asked him what his favorite part of our trip was and he told me "the animals and the boxes". Ok, so pretty much the entire experience;) My favorite part? Getting to hold hands with my favorite little man ALL morning.
