Brielle's first birthday fell on a Sunday this year which just means we got to celebrate for an entire weekend. She absolutely loves to play in the water so we decided to take her to the pool for her birthday.

We woke her up and she had a BLAST! The pool had water slides, a lazy river, beach entrance, fountains, and all kinds of other fun things. She loved toddling around in the shallow water and kept getting down and putting her face in the water. Van was also in heaven. Obviously we couldn't take the camera in the water with us but I did take a couple. We all had so much fun, especially the birthday girl:)
On Sunday, she woke up to balloons and the Happy Birthday banner. Van was SO excited too be in on the set up this time. Brielle loved it too. I didn't get pictures until that night after her bath but she played with the balloons all day.
She got a new dress for her birthday so she wore it to church and loved all the attention:) After church it was time for cake! I made her a purple ombre ruffle cake. I don't think she really cared:)
Van showed her how you take the candle out and lick the frosting off and she went to town chewing on the wax! I'm pretty sure she swallowed some before I noticed she was actually biting chunks off of it.
Her first taste of cake! She nibbled at it and mostly just made a mess. I knew our little girl wouldn't go crazy on it, she's not much of an eater:) Van was really excited about it though, he is the cutest big brother sometimes:)

She loved all of her presents. Her favorites are her new books and her stroller and baby doll.
She's giving her new baby loves:)
I can't believe how grown up she is getting.
I can't believe it's already been a year since we were blessed with this beautiful miracle girl. She has such a light about her and it's impossible not to be happy when she's around. Happy birthday sweet girl!
