Holidays are so fun with kids! Van and Brielle were both really excited for Halloween. We carved/painted pumpkins for family night the Monday before Halloween. They were so cute about it. They had picked out their own pumpkins in advance and talked about it for weeks before the big night.
Van carved his with Brian's help and then ended up painting it too.
Brielle painted her "baby" pumpkin (she is very into babies lately and everything is a "baby one" or a "mommy one" ) and was very VERY focused the whole time. We might have a little artist on our hands:)
She was seriously so cute. She didn't just slop on the paint. She was very slow and deliberate with her strokes.
Concentration.....
This was the first year we painted the pumpkins and it was so fun for the kids I think we will have to make it a tradition.
We attended the "carnival" portion of our ward's Halloween celebration but skipped the trunk or treat in favor of actually trick or treating.
Van won the donut eating contest:)
Halloween night! It was almost torture for the kids to have to wait until it was time to go trick or treating. Van at least got to have a party at school but poor Brielle had to wait all day for the main event. Van had a repeat costume, he really wanted to be Curious George again and luckily I made his costume big on him last year so he still fit into this year. He claims he wants to be George again next year but there is no way it will still fit.
I learned to knit this summer and I saw this adorable pattern for a fox sweater. I decided Brielle needed it and it could debut as her Halloween costume so I bought the pattern and made it for her;) She loved it and was so excited to wear it. She wore it well and got tons of compliments.
They are the worst at sibling pics!
Please note her adorable face paint in this picture. It didn't last long:)
Brian asked me to paint his face for his spanish students at school and before we went trick or treating he returned the favor.
This is how her face paint looked before we even started trick or treating:) Pretty much how I expected it to go.
Going through their loot.
They had so much fun!
