January was a pretty uneventful month as far as big outings go. We came home from Idaho at the beginning of the month and had to face taking down all the Christmas decorations and finding places for all of the wonderful new things we got for Christmas. Then we were thrown right back into school and busy regular life.
Van was very excited to find a package from his birth family waiting for him when we got home. They knew he really likes legos so he got a new set and the lego movie. Open adoption is awesome!
A lot of time was spent this month by Van driving his new remote control car (thanks grandma and grandpa king:) all over while Brielle squealed and ran away/after it. He figured out some pretty cool tricks too:)
I am so grateful for lifelong friends that now live within 15 min of me! A much needed girl's night out for all three of us:)
Scott and Shauna came back from their time in Asia. The kids were SO excited to see them again and want them to come over all the time now.
9:00 church means we have time for little miss sassy pants to have a nap after church and there is still time to go on lazy drives up the canyon. We are loving it!
This little shopper got a gift card from her birth family for Christmas and knew exactly what she wanted. She has been wanting boots for months, ever since she outgrew her last pair.
This boy keeps growing up too fast for my taste. He can now make pancakes (from a mix) completely by himself.
Speaking of cooking. Both kids LOVE to help me in the kitchen and their new aprons from their cousins Emi, Mari, and Paul (ok, really Aunt Amy did all the work:) are perfect. They use them daily!
We went to see a movie in the theater and they thought it was the coolest thing ever. I think this was Brielle's first time ever and she did great. I took this picture before it started and 30 seconds later Brielle climbed into my lap and stayed there the rest of the time.
I've been watching a baby girl the past couple of months and the kids LOVE having her around. If there is ever a day that she doesn't come over they ask for her all day and are so sad. Brielle even cried one day when she got picked up:) They are both really helpful too. I dare say, they might be more baby hungry than Brian and I and that's saying something!
I love when these two play well together and when Van is being the a great big brother:)
Brielle's hair is finally long enough for her very first french braids!
She has been really into her babies lately and takes very good care of them:)
The biggest event for our family this month (which is probably the reason we didn't do many other big things) is that Brielle worked on potty training and is now in underwear full time! We were pretty sure she was ready this time and she caught on really quickly and even surprised us by staying dry for naps and nighttime after only a couple of days. Where did my baby go!?!?!
