Snow Day...s!

We woke up Saturday morning to the magic of falling snow!! It was so beautiful and of course we ran outside to take pictures even though there was not even an inch worth on the ground. It stopped snowing and was pretty much gone by the afternoon. Little did we know.. more was on the way. It snowed again on Sunday, harder this time, and Monday. School was cancelled yesterday and today and there are rumors (pretty reliable ones) that school may be cancelled all week! This makes me laugh since there is MAYBE three inches on the ground. The roads ARE very icy and that is why school is cancelled but where I grew up it took FEET to shut down school not inches. Just for a comparison I talked to my parents and they got snow Sunday too, about 10 inches. Was there school the next day? You betcha!!

So, what have we done with our time you ask? Well let me tell you. First of all we bought a car last Saturday to replace little blackie (may he rest in peace)!! It is a white Volkswagon Passat and we LOVE it! It's actually a little older than blackie but it has about the same miles and is the fancy model so it has seat warmers, a sun roof, and leather seats. It gets around great in the snow too as we have found out. It's funny how excited we are to have it. We feel very blessed with the way things have worked out.

We also have dried many many apples! Our friends Jennis and Jared brought back a bunch of apples from visiting family over Thanksgiving and they shared with us. There were way to many to eat before they got to old so I borrowed a food dehydrator from my old visiting teacher who is also my neighborish, Heidi, and got to work!

This bad boy holds a lot of fruit!

Just a little sample, MMMM goooooood!

We had some little visitors one night who left a pretty heart in our front yard. We think it was a couple of young men from our ward. Have I mentioned before that the young men LOVE Brian and frequently stop by? We love it!

Yesterday we decided to be brace and head out to run some errands(turns out it was a BAD idea since the roads were in fact ice and we slid a bit but made it home safley)I am pleased to report I have not lost my touch with the scraper. I'm glad we still keep these awesome scrapper/brushs in our cars even though it's been years since we used them last. Oh, I should mention that this was probably the 2nd time since we bought our house that we left one of our cars out of our garage over night. Silly us, it had to be the night we get snow!

Here are just a couple of other pictures from the snow. The second one is of my flip flops that I left on our back porch. It has snowed more since and now you can't see them at all.

We have also been watching movies, reading books, playing trivial pursuit, doing puzzles, dancing, singing, wrapping presents, talking on the phone.....getting cabin fever... I love the snow and we love how pretty it is but I really hope the roads get better soon!

you guys got WAY more snow than us! Not fair. The schools are all still canceled here though, don't worry. We have less than an inch and it's been sheer PANIC in the air since Sunday. Ah, the northwest...

I don't know why I think that I can move to Iowa someday. I really don't like the snow very much. Sure it is beautiful, but I am a super baby when it comes to snow.

Do you remember that snow fight our freshman year. My face got rubbed in the snow so many times! Yuck!
