Tree Hunting!

We got our Christmas tree on Friday! Yeah!! It's always been one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Many years growing up we would go out into the woods to hunt down the perfect tree. The smell just brings back so many happy memories. It's just not Christmas until you have the fresh tree up and decorated. We had a lot of fun getting our tree this year. We got some recommendations for a place REALLY close to our house this year and it was delightful! This was the view on the way. If you look closely you can see Mt. Hood in the background. We went around dusk so it's starting to get dark.

First thing they did when we got there was give Brian a saw.... Watch out trees!

They also gave us this handy stick to measure how tall the trees were.

Then we were off on the hunt. Of course we had to traipse way in the back of the tree farm where only the hard core tree hunters would go. That's where all the good ones are hiding. It didn't take long before Brian found "the one". Look at that triumphant smile! He was very proud of the fact that HE found it, not me.

So, we sawed it down...

...and tied it to the roof of our car....

..and tried to get in our car only to discover that we had tied the doors shut in the process!! We had put the ropes through the windows and up and over the tree. We were pretty surprised at ourselves, we usually think things through really well. So we maneuvered our way in Bo and Luke Duke style (you remember how they jumped into the General Lee) and headed home.

The finished product.

We know, pictures of Christmas trees never look as good as the real thing but you get the idea.

Your tree looks so pretty...we went to a tree farm in Washington with his family and we picked out a tree...it was so fun...Jon sawed the tree down. He had a lot of fun with the saw. We are hopefully getting our tree tonight.

Pretty Tree! I might just give in and let Kent get a real tree this year. I just have it in my head that they are messy and will catch on fire! I know that is lame, but I still think it.

Brian and a saw scares me a little.

I'm way envious! We have a two foot fake tree. Maybe next year *sigh*

You two are so cute! I love the tree. I'm glad that things worked out so well with the water heater!

Well, you can definitely tell the tree you picked is a winner, even if its gloriousness can't be captured. We got a Charlie Brown tree. Not so impressive :)

Noble trees are the best...my family has always got these kind of trees! Way better than Douglas!
