Snowboarding!

For the rest of our Christmas break the roads in Eastern Oregon continued to be bad. In fact I heard on the radio just this past Monday that they closed the 84 again. There was pretty much not hope of driving to Idaho and back so....we bought plane tickets and flew out there! We had a great week of snowy fun and family time. My parents got us an incredible Christmas/3rd wedding anniversary gift. They got us a ski and stay package at the hotel where we had our wedding reception 3 years ago!

I grew up skiing since the ski resort was 15 min from my house growing up but Brian had never tried skiing or snowboarding. He wanted to try boarding first so I decided I would do it with him. I had only tried boarding once about 10 years ago so we were at about the same level....super beginners. It was actually a TON of fun. We were pretty good. We graduated from the bunny hill after lunch and tried the intermediate chair lift. It was definitely challenging but there were only 2 parts I had to just slide down on my heels instead of turning ;) Brian was a little less cautious than me so he ended up having a couple of really hard wipe outs but I would definitely say we were getting the hang of it. It was so fun and we can't wait to do it again! Oh, check out how SHORT I look in the before shot. It never ceases to amaze me how tall my family is, I always forget how short I am compared to my LITTLE sister.
