On Friday we got our fist pet, this awesome Beta Fish! We have been wanting to get a larger aquarium for a little while and have been looking around but haven't taken the plunge yet. Then the other day we had a brilliant idea, how about just start with a Beta Fish. So that's exactly what we did. The pictures really don't do him justice. Swish is the most amazing blue color with an awesome black face. He really was the coolest fish in the entire store and there were A LOT of fish to choose from. We brought him home in this little container but quickly got him settled into his new home.
First we filled the tank (yes that is tap water and he is thriving!)
Then we did the quick transfer...
..and he LOVED all the new space!
Hopefully you get the idea, it's surprisingly hard to get a good picture of a fish! Well maybe not so surprisingly. We would love to have some more exciting pets someday like a horse or a dog but for now Swish is a pretty awesome low maintenance pet!

He looks cool! Way to take the pet plunge. Pretty soon you'll have dogs, goats, chickens, and every other pet. :) Can't wait to meet him.
Very cool! Sam wants a fish really bad. Today at the park he was petting a dog and the guy asked him if we had a dog. Sam said "No, but we are going to get a fish!" A while ago when he asked for a puppy I told him we could maybe get a fish and he hasn't forgotten. We should follow through on that after we move. Sorry about the long comment. Love the color of Swish and his name!
