The past week has been a little crazy around our house. Last Thursday Van came down with what we thought was a little cold. He had a runny nose, and occasional little cough, but no fever. He was still as active and happy and hungry as ever so we weren't concerned. Over the next few days he developed a NASTY wheeze and Brian and I developed NASTY colds. It just so happened that Van's 9 month well baby check up(22.5 lbs & 29.5 in!) was on Wednesday so we took him in to find that he had Bronchiolitis!! We were expecting to hear this diagnosis since we had done some research at home. They tried giving him a breathing treatment of albuterol but it didn't help at all. Luckily he seems to just be getting better on his own. We have some friends who's little boy is in the hospital with Bronchiolitis right now so we feel lucky that Van is doing so well. Actually, he doesn't seem to have been slowed down by this AT ALL! It has made it hard on us sicky parents who have absolutely no energy to chase around our speedy, wheezy baby. With his new found freedom he's been crawling all over and pulling himself up on everything and just generally getting into trouble! He's been having the time of his life!
He "helped" with the laundry this week. I had it all folded when he spotted it and came zooming over.

It got progressively less folded...
Until it was a big jumble of laundry again and Van said "no more pictures mom".
We've spent a lot of time on the couch watching Van the man cruise around.
He will pull to standing on ANYTHING that is at least an inch off the ground. It's pretty funny to watch.
In an attempt to make things easier for us we tried to corral him in the living room. As you can see our attempts at keeping him in really only created a fun new challenge for him and he just climbed right over it. It might have been more of a hazard than a help!

So, that's what we've been dealing with this week. Being sick, having a child that is sick for the first time, and chasing a baby that continues to learn new things and have crazy amounts of energy despite his illness! What a week!

Be strong. These times end eventually. Hope Van gets better soon.... Oh and you guys too :)
Sorry to hear about the sickies. Glad you guys survived tho, and especially glad that he was still himself when sick (that usually means less dr involvement:)
He's getting so big!!!! I can't wait to see him this summer. Don't let him start walking yet because I want to see him crawl!

Poor little Van! I hope he starts to feel better. It will be fun seeing you guys in June!
