Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival

A couple of weeks ago we took a little family outing to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. It's this really cute little tulip farm that has been doing this "festival" every spring for 50 years. There are fields and fields of gorgeous flowers, yummy food, and games and activities for the kids. It will be more fun in the next couple of years when Van is actually old enough to do some of the activities but this year it was nice just enjoying the beautiful spring day as a family with some great views of the flowers and the valley.

Just makin' some wooden shoes!

These shoes were in high demand for photo ops. When we finally got our turn Van refused to look up at us and crawled right out 4 seconds after this was taken.

In general he was more interested in the intricacies of his stroller than the flowers...

but he did throw us this little cheesy smile for one semi decent picture.

They had these little wooden shoe trains that took you all over the farm. They also had a cow train!

Brian got some great shots of the flowers.

Makes me want to plant a tulip field in our back yard instead of grass!

This is amazing! So pretty! And I love the shoe train. We're going to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point next week and were pretty impressed last year when we went, but now it might be disappointing after seeing this!

I say do it. Tulips are much prettier than grass. Van is getting so big!
