We spent last week in California visiting family and soaking up the sun! Van had a fever for two days before we left and for the first two day we were there which meant we had to keep things pretty low key for him but it was still nice to be out of the rain!

While we were there we got to meet Van's newest 2nd cousin for the first time. Carson is so cute! Even though he's half Van's age he's only a few pounds and a couple of inches smaller than Van! That's really saying something because Van is not a small kid!
Sorry they aren't looking at the camera, Carson was a little upset which made it hard to get him to look and Van was interested in the crying baby next to him which made us two for two on non lookers.

Monday we spend the afternoon at the Getty Villa. It's a free (always awesome!) art museum near Malibu that houses mostly pieces from Greek and Roman antiquity. The building itself is a facsimile of an ancient Roman villa and is worth the trip even if there wasn't any art to see!

The next day we started the day with lunch on Redondo Pier.
Van got impatient waiting for lunch so he got started on his hat.
After the pier we hit the beach! Van loved the sand and only ate a couple of handfuls.
He was actually really funny. He would take handfuls and make piles and not try to eat it like a well behaved little boy. As soon as we would turn around he'd sneak a taste! We couldn't figure out why he ate it more than once though because he did not find it appealing!
Yuck sand!

We spent a few days at Brian's grandpa's house where we got to see some other family members. Van made friends with Brian's 3 year old cousin Kyle. Whenever van would leave a room Kyle would come running a few seconds later yelling "Van, Van! Where is Van!" He was showing Van how to play with all the best toys. It was really cute.

What a fun vacation you guys had! I love all your pictures!!! Van is so darn cute!!! He is so cute in his beach outfit! I love his shark shorts.
I love the first pic of Van. He literally looks like he's soakin in as much sun as he can get. Cute pics of him at the beach. I can't wait to take Emi to see if she'll like it.
