Last spring we planted about 50 strawberry plants and in June we had a sprinkling of red berries in our little patch. Just a little sample really. This year we were optimistic that we would have enough to at least make a batch or two of freezer jam. Much to our surprise we had SO many berries we had to give a bunch away!
This was round 1 of 3 rounds so far and there are still more berries out there that aren't ripe yet.

I ended up making 5 batches of jam (two pictured below) which Brian deemed "the best ever" after his final taste test. He says that every year though so he can't really be trusted.

Aside from the jam we have been enjoying having fresh strawberries in the house at all times. Can't beat a fresh strawberry milkshake or waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Somehow they taste extra delicious knowing we grew them ourselves.
