While my sister was here we got out Van's baby clothes and went through them looking for hand me downs for Jon and Amy's baby BOY due in November. (We are all extremely excited they are having a boy, especially Van) It was so fun looking at all the tiny little things! We came across this sleeper which was the sleeper we took him home in. It was chosen as the going home outfit by default because it was the smallest of the newborn clothes we had and it was the only one that even remotely fit him. It was a little roomy but didn't look ridiculous on his little 6 lb 7 oz frame like the others did. In fact in this picture taken at about 5 days old it looks pretty good on him!
Look at newborn Van! So tiny and scrunchy!

Of course we had to compare then and now so we made our active little boy lay down next to his first ever outfit. He wasn't too happy about it but he did comply so I won't complain about his expression;)
Holy moly! What a difference 13 months makes! He has quadrupled in weight and grown more than a foot since birth. I really can't believe how much babies change in the first year of life! I can't really call him a baby for much longer. I already feel silly calling him a baby sometimes and now that he's practicing his walking skills more every day I'm pretty sure our days of saying things like "this is our baby, Van" are numbered. Good thing out "little boy, Van" is SOO much fun! It softens the blow a bit when I look at the difference between pictures like the ones above and below and realize my baby is quickly becoming my little boy. After a diaper change- 3 days old.

I can't believe how much they change! I love your family. It was good to see your parents after Uncle Jimmy's funeral. It would be great to see you guys sometime and get to know you again:)
I love the picture comparison between the two sizes! What a great perspective! Wow, he looks so big already.
They grow up so fast! I finally did a post for the month of May!!!
I cant believe he was ever that small!! So glad to get to see you guys last weekend. Van is getting so much personality.
So tiny!!! Amazing how they grow. Afton is three today. Crazy.
He'll always be known as "baby van" in our house :) I still call Jude my baby and he's almost 2! But soon enough, he will be rid of that title forever.
