Today Van officially turned 2 1/2! His 2nd birthday seems like it was just yesterday and now we are halfway to his 3rd! I've heard that the transition from toddler to little boy happens between 2 and 3 and I can definitely see that starting to happen. He is so much fun right now and so adorable, I really wish I could just freeze him at this age and enjoy it for a while. Here are a few things about our Brian Van at 2 1/2....
*he still loves books and memorizes them after 1 or 2 times being read to
*he's a puzzle master
*he is a little over 37 inches and 35 lbs
*he wears mostly size 3T but has a few 4T
*he can say anything he wants to and does
*he can get through almost all attempts at childproofing
*he knows his letters like the back of his hand
*he is FINALLY interested in numbers and can count to 20 but he usually misses one of the teens
*he is very independent now with the potty, he often shuts the door on me and say "you don't want to see this mom!"
*he is engaging more and more in pretend play and it is so fun to see his imagination!
*he thankfully still takes a 3 hr nap each day and sleeps about 11 hrs at night
*he wants to do EVERYTHING himself including pouring his own milk, dressing himself, buckling himself into his car seat, brushing his teeth and many many more.
He's actually pretty competent at most of them:)
*he wants to do EVERYTHING his daddy or I do including putting soap in the dishwasher, doing the laundry, using the computer, talking on the phone, and driving the car.
He's also pretty competent t most of these things too
*he wishes we would get him a cat or a dog but we're hoping for a baby brother or sister instead
*he has become very affectionate lately and will often run up, give me the sweetest hug and tell me he loves me:)
*he is a wonderful friend, there are a TON of little boys his age at church and it's so fun to watch him build relationships with them. He is so good at sharing, never pushes or hits and gets SO excited when a friend comes to play
*he is still the boss of the radio when we are in the car. He is very particular about what he listens to and how loud it is
*he is hilarious when he dances!
*he is starting to understand a little bit about being adopted and will proudly tell you 'I grew in Jennifer's tummy'!
*he loves talking on the phone. Brian calls on his way home from work every day and Van grabs the phone every time and starts telling his daddy everything we did that day
*apparently he is better at putting his sock on his right foot than his left so often he will come walking out of his room with two socks on his right foot and nothing on his left:)
*he has a crazy good memory
*he is the most perfect little boy that has ever been 2 1/2!!!
