Brian Van At FOUR!

This little boy is now four years old!  He is probably the most excited little boy to ever turn four.  He has been talking about turning four for months and months. It was really fun planning birthday festivities for him since he has been anticipating it so much:)  Here are a few things about our miracle boy at four years old:

*he is learning to read and constantly amazes me.  The other day he read "surprise".
*he can count to 100 (and loves to make me listen to him do it) and could very easily learn to count higher but I refuse to teach him because I don't want to listen to him count to 500:)
*he continues to be tall and sturdy
*he is very capable and very helpful and sometimes has a hard time being told "no" since he knows he is capable
*he loves his baby sister but has started to be a bit bossy lately
*he is still the sweetest boy ever and will often tilt his head, sigh, and say "I love you mommy" out of nowhere.  I love it!
*he has requested to be called "huckle cat" from the busytown books for quite some time now.
*he has assigned the entire family to be characters from busytown as well and they are as follows: Me-mommy cat (seems ovbious), Brielle- sally cat (huckle's sister,
again obvious), and Dad-lowly worm. Brian hates being lowly worm
instead of daddy cat and Van thinks it hilarious. So do I!
*he loves mazes, puzzles, and board games and he is crazy good at them
*he is having a hard time adjusting to primary which totally surprised us but he is working through it
*he loves forts and we hardly ever go a day without bare couches since he uses every single cushion to make them
*he is ALWAYS hungry (I'm honestly scared to try to keep him fed when he is a teenager)
*his favorite color is green and he thinks that means no one else can like it
*he is still a major daddy's boy, it's cute
*he currently has an illogical hatred of buttons.  He won't hug us if we are wearing buttons anywhere on us and he certainly won't wear them himself
*if the weather and his parents would permit he would spend every waking minute playing with the hose and his pool in the backyard
*he loves hiking and when we go he always wants to be the leader when we go.
*he brings us more joy than we ever even could have hoped for!
