Another of our advent activities was to go to Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo. It was freezing cold but we all had so much fun! Why are lights so enchanting? We didn't see as many animals as we normally do at the zoo but the lights and a little surprise for Van more than made up for it.
I can't get enough of her when she is all bundled up! It was REALLY cold but I did such a good job with her warm clothes that she was slightly sweaty when we unwrapped her at the end of the night:)
We surprised Van with a visit to Santa! He was SO excited. When Santa comes to the zoo he brings two of his real live reindeer with him. This one is Blitzen and Van is still talking about him:)
On the way out we stopped and enjoyed some hot cider and gingerbread cookies that I brought and watched this guy carve ice with a chainsaw. Van was completely enthralled with this. Most people would stop and watch for a few minutes then move on but Van wanted to watch from start to finish. Brielle seemed pretty interested as well.
