Counting my Blessings

It's that time of year where we all start to think of what we are thankful for. Today I was thinking of everything I have been blessed with. I have always felt like I had more than my fair share of blessing even through trials and hard times. I really have a lot to be thankful for. I thought I would share a little story about one of the things I am most grateful for, my husband.

When we were living in Texas is rained....hard...a lot...and we were always fascinated by it. We always thought we were seconds away from being swept away by a hurricane. It was a little scary but mostly fun. One day after a loooong day of teaching crazy high school kids it started raining SO HARD. Seriously, we thought our roof was going to cave in. We were looking out the window in awe and Brian says "Get some shorts on let's go play!!" So that is exactly what we did. We ran outside and within SECONDS we were drenched to the bone. We ran all over chasing each other and laughing. When Brian is laughing, I mean really laughing hard, he has the most infectious laugh. If he is laughing I can't help but laugh too even if I have a bad case of the grumpies. The grass was very slippery and we were falling down and giggling like a couple of middle school kids. It felt so dangerous because there was lightning all around us but that was half the fun. We ended up at the pool where of course he threw me it and of course I freaked out because I thought I was going to get struck by lightning. We eventually raced home to get warm and dry.

I am thankful for so many things but today I am most thankful for my best friend Brian.
