Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We ended up having Christmas with our little family of 2 in the comfort of our own home. A couple of months ago we decided that we are not going to travel for Christmas next year so we'll get to be home for Christmas again. We will be much more prepared though next year. As it happend this year we didn't have any presents to open (we had opened our presents to each other early so we could do it alone before traveling) but it was actually kind of nice since it helped us remember the true meaning of Christmas. The presents and traditions help make Christmas great but it's easy to forget that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior. We had a simple Christmas and it was wonderful.

We were invited over by the Jennis and Jared for dinner on Christmas eve and it was great. Fantastic food and good company. On Christmas day we decided to make finally make the gingerbread house we had been intending to make for weeks. This was our first attempt without a kit or graham crackers and it was pretty fun. The roof didn't fit very well onto the house and we didn't have a very good variety of candy to decorate with but my creative husband came through. He designed and created the bush, forest, snowman, russian spear fisherman, and reindeer. Basically all the good parts. I helped with the shark infested stream and the bridge though. We love it!

Your gingerbread house turned out beautiful!!! I heard about all of the road closures to trap you guys from going to Idaho :( It sounds like you guys had a nice little Christmas though!
