Reverse Houdini

Our sweet little Van is very good at getting into things he shouldn't. His brain seems to be programmed to figure out how things work and how things fit together or come apart. His birth father is an electrician and we think his mind is wired like Chris'. All of the "baby proofing" devices we have installed in our house barely slow him down now. We've had to get creative with a few things including the fridge. We tied it shut with a shoelace and it worked like a dream...for about a minute. It seems like any time we think something is safe he figures out how to get through our security device. He soon figured out how to untie the shoelace and get into the fridge. So, we started tying it in a double bow. He figured out that one too. Then we started tying the bow up high on the handle so he couldn't reach the knot. He figured out how to pull REALLY hard and pull the knot down to the bottom. Finally we started tying it up high and VERY tight! Yesterday I caught the little guy red handed while he implemented his solution to our latest attempt to keep him out of the fridge......

Uh oh! Caught Ya! He looks a little guilty and a lot disappointed!

Trying not to let me see how proud of himself he is:)
As difficult as it is trying to stay one step ahead of our little break in artist I have to say I'm usually far more proud of him than I am frustrated with him. It's pretty impressive the things he figures out how to do! How many two year olds do you know that can steal the keys, unlock the car, open the door, climb in and get the keys into the ignition all by themselves!?!??! That one was supervised by the way, I just wanted to see if he could do it:)
