Happy Thanksgiving! This year was our fist Thanksgiving ever that we stayed home. We missed seeing extended family but I have to say it was REALLY nice to have a relaxing dinner at home without all the stress of traveling in the snow. Brian only had to work Mon & Tue so we had lots of time together which was heaven.
I've always helped with Thanksgiving dinner but this was the first time I did it alone and I was excited to try my hand at making a turkey. In keeping with our theme of having a relaxing holiday I decided to spread out the meal preparation by doing some baking the day before.

I made my first solo turkey, Brian said it was by far the best turkey he's ever eaten;) He says that about almost everything I make though so I don't know how much he can be trusted. I thought it was delicious and Van had about 3 helpings so I'll count it as a success!
Van's favorite was the punch:)
Our tiny little table full of Thanksgiving goodness. Van got to eat off of a big boy plate sine it was a special occasion. He LOVED it!

The best part about a small Thanksgiving at home? We get to eat ALL of the yummy leftovers ourselves! In fact, I might just go make myself a turkey sandwich right now:)

Good work! I'm dreading the day when I have to step up to the plate and take care of everything on my own. I'll be calling you when that day comes :)
