May was a busy and wonderfully fun month. The weather was amazing so we got out of the house a lot for family fun.
We did some hiking where we saw several little snakes.
The kids and I got outside to run in the sunshine several times. They sit in the stroller so well during the run if I tell them the can get out the last 100 yds and throw rocks:)
I got to take each child out on a special one on one date for mother's day. Brielle and I went shopping where she got to pick out some new nail polish. Then we went home and did mani/pedis:)
I love this girls so so SO much! She gives the best face smooshing hugs!
She got a new purse and loves it.
Van took me for frozen yogurt and then to the park to play. He was so cute at the yogurt place. He's been there with Brian so he showed me around. He talked to the cashier and asked for sample cups for us and showed me how to use the machines, he even paid:) He is growing up so fast!
Before church on Mother's Day. I am in awe daily that I get to be their mommy. They are by far my greatest blessings in this life.
Van has finally found the confidence to draw and I am loving seeing what he comes up with.
We got a new tent!
We went up the canyon for family night one Monday.
She's showing me that it's hot and she should not touch it.
This is just so scary to me but daddy thought it was a good idea:)
I know this picture is blurry but I think it is hilarious! Brielle is such a funny girl and she was kicking and singing and being crazy.
We stayed until the sun got very low and the kids were ready for bed. It was a pretty perfect evening together. I love our little family!
Warm weather means water fun!
..and warm snuggles after:)
We went to the library several times and Van earned a prize for reading 20 min a day for 21 days. Let's be real, he reads over an hour a day but who's counting:) Love that he is a bookworm!
We hit up a splash pad on Memorial Day
The next day this handsome boy finally turned 5! He has been counting down since January:)
We had a little party for him at a park near Brian's school that has a splash pad. He and Brielle both had a blast.
Then we came home and played with a few more of his new toys before bed.
Van had his 5 year check up later that week. The kids really enjoy the cartoons in the waiting room.
This check up was probably the worst one we have ever had. All because Van is scared of the blood pressure cuff. At his 4 year check up the nurse (who we had never had before and was terrible) put him in the automatic blood pressure machine and turned it up too high so it really hurt his arm. He started crying but those machines take a minute to release so he was trapped for 15 seconds or so and it terrifed the poor kid. So now he has developed a bit of a phobia of going to the doctor. He was very apprehensive before hand and was quite uncooperative about everything leading up to the blood pressure. When she brought out the cuff he lost it. I mean screaming, crocidile tears, shaking, clinging to me, and trying to climb under the chair lost it. I have never seen him like that before and it was so sad! Finally I just asked them if we could skip it, at that point if they did get his arm in the cuff his pressure was going to be sky high anyway! After the blood pressure was off the table he calmed down a lot and the rest wasn't so bad. He is still 90% for height but is now about 80% for weight as apposed to 90%. He is healthy and growing and perfect!
As a treat for surviving his ordeal he and Brielle got their very first shaved ice. He got bubblegum, gross!
It was a good month:)
