May started out feeling very much like summer so Brielle got to try out one of her new bathing suits:)
May also brought the spring portion of Van playing on his soccer team. This little spectator was so cute in her sunglasses every game.
This kid is so fast! He was fun to watch. Even though he is obviously a beginner it's fun to watch him learn and improve.
Mother's Day
As per our tradition I got to take each child out on a little date the week of Mother's Day. I forgot the camera when Brielle and I went out so we just got this picture once we got back but we had a lot of fun. She picked shopping for our date, of course:) I love this little brown eyed girl of mine!
Van and I went to the Library and out to frozen yogurt. He is seeming SO grown up lately I can't hardly stand it!
All dressed up for church on Mother's Day. These two are the best, I am the luckiest mommy!
After church we snuggled up and watched a movie while Brian made dinner. It's rare that I get to snuggle with both kids at the same time and I LOVED it!
It was actually very rainy for most of the month (which made me really homesick for Oregon) but on the dry days we tried to get outside as much as possible. This day took both kids plus the sweet girl I babysit on a run. We were quite the circus on the trail but it felt really good to run outside and all three kids were in heaven.
Van had his kindergarten program. How is kindergarten already over! I am NOT excited for him to be in school all day next year.
This picture gives you a little bit of an idea of how much bigger Van is than most of his classmates:)
Over Memorial Day weekend grandma and grandpa came for a visit! One of the days they were here we went to the zoo.
Watching the bird show:)
Carousel!
This little thrill seeker graduated from the bench to a stationary animal:) My goal for this year is to get him on one that actually goes up and down. I know, lofty for a six year old but a mom can dream right:)
I think she jumped in every puddle in the entire zoo:)
I told them to look scared, like they were running from the dinosaur....
Brielle has decided she is too old for naps. Most days she is fine with no nap but sometimes she just can't make it through the day. I found her like this one afternoon. Oh how I love her!
Near the end of the month we had some special visitors. Brielle's birth mom and her family! Brielle was SO excited for them to come and was talking about it for weeks before hand. She had so much fun and talks about them all the time now. Just yesterday she scrapped her toe and she told me through her tears "my birth mommy will be so sad I got hurt! She loves me sooooo much!" She wants to see you all again soon!
One night Brielle picked Van to put her to bed. They are my favorite!
